I have high blood pressure. When diagnosed with hypertension, doctors immediately prescribed a synthetic angiotensin converting enzyme [ACE] inhibitor and set it up for regular monitoring. Its purpose was to reduce the risk of heart disease and cardiovascular accidents. Their purpose is admirable, but I thought it was strange that my condition was managed rather than treated. I decided to investigate more.
In the wealth of information I discovered about high blood pressure, I learned three things. Each of them was subsequently confirmed to be true by a doctor. This is what I learned:
# 1. Reasons for no cure for high blood pressure:
I was treated like an illness, but high blood pressure is neither ill nor ill. For this reason, there is no cure. To minimize the risk of other potentially serious conditions occurring, you can manage the conditions to make your measurements as close to normal as possible.
# 2. Symptoms of fundamental health problems.
High blood pressure is an important body sign as well as pulse and body temperature. Continuously rising blood pressure may indicate the root cause that needs to be investigated-treatment is necessary just as fever indicates a health problem.
To complicate the problem, there are over 300 possible causes of high blood pressure. Until a real cause is found, few doctors have the time to systematically eliminate all potential causes. Managing our condition is much easier and less time consuming than finding and treating a real problem.
But often the root cause can be linked to a combination of lifestyle choices such as poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, smoking tobacco products, and heavy consumption of alcohol.
# 3 diet and exercise can reduce high blood pressure:
The doctor prescribed a synthetic ACE inhibitor to manage my condition. I received some simple and very general dietary advice and was encouraged to become more active. My own research quickly revealed that there are natural ACE inhibitors that are as effective as the prescribed synthetic type and without harmful side effects.
For example, bananas contain natural ACE inhibitors. Eating two medium bananas a day has been shown to reduce hypertension by 10%. And eating three times a day halves the risk of stroke. Bananas are also a rich source of potassium, and having a recommended daily potassium level can also help reduce high blood pressure.
Garlic also contains natural ACE inhibitors, and cucumber and parsley are mild diuretics. There are many other foods that can help lower our high blood pressure. In dehydrated subjects, properly hydrating the body can also help, as studies have shown that 6% of water loss is from within the body's cells. This reduces the elasticity of the smooth muscle inside the blood vessels and increases hypertension.
It soon became clear that diet was an important factor in reducing high blood pressure.
If you do regular exercises such as walking fast for 45 minutes a day for 1 hour, your high blood pressure will drop by up to 20 points, and the effect will last almost 24 hours. It makes daily exercise essential.
I am not ill, high blood pressure is not illness or illness, it shows that my body is out of balance. As I discovered, combining a healthy diet with a more active and healthy lifestyle is the key to reducing hypertension naturally.
