The Truth About Karate for Kids (Part 5) 1

This is the last article in this series, with the last two life skills and three additional benefits that children will receive by regularly participating in karate classes.

Confidence

Many adults suffer from self-esteem, so it is natural for children to feel lack of confidence. In addition, parents who have problems with self-confidence will copy the parent example.

This is one reason why the confidence CD in the pro shop is so popular with adults. While this CD is actually a form of self-hypnosis for adults, karate is a much more effective confidence tool for active children.

So how does a child find confidence through karate practice? Self-esteem is built on the foundation of the daily results that each child experiences in karate class. This is a kind of confidence programming for the child's personality. As the child becomes more proficient in karate, confidence will not be delayed so much and will be carried over to all activities.

Social skills

Recently, children have such a lack of social skills. Having manners, showing courtesy and showing mutual respect are part of every karate class. It's nice to be "technically advanced", but you don't have to give up tradition. As a child grows, a child who shows manners, courtesy and respect succeeds in life.

These lacks of qualities are considered anti-social, rude, or rog-pride-and of course. Some adults who exhibit these forms of behavior “avoid”, but diplomacy offers us a long way to go. Therefore, social skills are actively strengthened in each karate lesson.

Let's take a look at some of the bonus benefits that children receive from attending karate classes regularly.

Self defence

“Wall flies” learn proper self-defense skills if hung around a karate class long enough. Children who continue to practice karate need to be able to take care of themselves and develop sufficient awareness to escape trouble.

Nutrition

Children or adults who are practicing karate are excellent athletic and will see what they eat. In all forms of physical and mental exercise, proper nutrition is transmitted.

Meditation

“Kata” [karate form] is meditation during exercise. Adult or child karate students learn to focus and calm their minds with daily karate exercises. In the North Providence facility, karate students are taught stable gaze and breathing awareness meditation techniques.

Needless to say, children practicing karate have a stable life and are very well rounded and ready to succeed in life. If you want to give your child a gift that will last a lifetime, visit a local martial arts center and find a program that suits your needs. Compare at least two martial arts schools to make informed decisions.
