The surface area in the basement had a slight moisture reading, but when I looked closely, I came to the opinion that my reading was not from the wood itself, but from soil confined to the grain. I stood and tied a 5 foot wood pillar on two saw horses. I used a chainsaw to cut out about 4 inches from both ends, but surprisingly, it always had a pink red pole.
