Credit card companies are enthusiastic about marketing and are often accused of offering credit irresponsibly. For example, college campuses are old enough to earn credits, so they offer cards on the college campus that do not have credit card experience or knowledge of the associated costs.
However, credit cards have moved from urgent cash substitutes to much more of the usual, resulting in more people living outside their means. Credit means that people can buy what they can't really get.
It's no wonder that so many people have declared personal bankruptcy. What begins with the purchase of a small credit card becomes out of control at high interest rates and costs that consumers never thought of.
This type of irresponsible lending is almost expected to increase the number of individuals who declare personal bankruptcy. But can you blame creditors? At some point, people need to explain their behavior and take some responsibility for their spending. After all, no one will force you a credit card. However, aggressive advertising in credit services has contributed to the number declaring bankruptcy, which is certain.
Contrary to what appears to be a general opinion, it is not all deadbeats and wasted people that have declared personal bankruptcy. In fact, these people are not even approved. They are often people who have lost their finances and are unable to maintain payments. And credit card companies and banks should be responsible, but as a society we must be responsible for our own actions and our own spending. Otherwise, this cycle will not end.
