Air hockey is an interesting and popular game. Originally the game was invented with the idea of creating a friction-free surface. Games like foosball were very popular, but it was always very difficult to stop a rolling ball. So a group of three engineers known as Crossman, the second Kendrick, and Baldwin, who belonged to Brunswick, began working on an idea to find a way to create a “friction-free surface”.
Three engineers patented this idea, but after working for several years, they got away without going anywhere. That's when Bob Remu began the challenge and tried to realize the original concept. He first tried using pucks and mallets, but eventually created an air hockey table with low flow and consistent vents to create an elusive, frictionless surface. Created successfully.
Air hockey tables have received overwhelming response since they were on the market. Its popularity can be judged by demand from all bars, clubs and arcades. In fact, the game was so hot that it became the center of the tournament in the 1970s.
By 1975, the Air Table Hockey Association created rules and rules for managing tournaments, and annual championships began to be held. To date, a dozen players have been chosen as world air hockey champions.
In 1970, when there were other games such as foosball and pool that were popular among people, no one would have imagined a game without friction. However, three engineers and a man named Bob thought outside the box and developed an instant game room classic.
Of course, gameplay is more advanced than the sport itself. Today's air hockey rules and regulations are different from the original rules. Players have also discovered a new and different technology for using air hockey equipment.
“Drift”, an alias for shots, is even more difficult. There is a pattern in which the pack flies around the hockey table and throws away the opponent's expectations to score a goal. You can place shots and drifts in specific patterns to confuse your opponent. In this case, the pack will hit like a fly, giving you the opportunity to hit it quickly and repeatedly. There is another play strategy known as “combo”. This strategy hits the puck as if the opponent felt like it was heading in a certain drift and direction, but the puck moves in different directions by spin or quick movement.
Obviously, the game always shows something new that can be created with a little new inspiration and patience. Without both, I never knew the fun of air hockey.
