 About Concrete Batching Plants 1

Concrete, an artificial material, is used in the construction of high-rise buildings, sidewalks, bridges, houses, driveways, and highways. Once formed, concrete acts as a durable material that is strong enough to withstand some of its maximum natural forces. However, concrete is “plastic” in that it can be molded and molded into virtually any shape before it hardens. When cured, the quality of concrete depends on the properties of the mixture.

Concrete mixing involves properly adjusting the appropriate ratio of water and cement, sand and gravel so that a durable concrete product can be created. In fact, if the mixture contains any excess paste or water, the resulting concrete foundation will easily break. Conversely, coarse concrete results from a concrete mixture that does not contain enough paste or water mixture.

Where concrete is mixed
A batch plant is used to mix the concrete. The various materials used to make the type of concrete being used-sand, water, rock, gravel, etc.-are combined in large mechanical, sometimes computer-aided machines and mixed for field use And be prepared. There are two basic types of concrete batching plants used for mixing and preparing concrete. The first is the ready mix plant, which combines all the raw materials of the concrete, except for the water that is added as the final raw material during transport off-site. The second type of concrete batching is a central mixing batch plant. The central mixing plant combines all the components of the concrete, including water, and carries it to the site.

Ready mix batch plant
When the components of the concrete mixture are combined using the ready mix concrete batch plant, the mixture is discharged to the mixing truck and ready for concrete production. There are basically three different options when using ready-mixed concrete. First, set the truck mixer to low speed during transport to the work site. At this point, increase the speed of the mixing drum for 5 minutes to prepare the mixture.

Second, just mix the concrete mix in the mixing yard and slowly agitate during transport to the work site. Finally, the concrete mixture can be rotated at medium speed in the drum during transport, so that it can be thoroughly mixed before reaching the destination.

Central mixing batch plant
The second major method of concrete batching is to use a central mix concrete batch plant. The central mix plant mixes and mixes all the components of the concrete and then discharges the mix to a mixing truck for transport to the shop floor. Central mix plants use a fixed plant-mounted mixer, similar to a silo where all ingredients are mixed. Sometimes referred to as “wet batch” concrete plants, there are actually several advantages to using them to mix concrete.

Central mixing plants can produce concrete mixtures faster than truck mixers. Second, using a central mixing plant does not put too much strain on or wear the concrete mixing truck. Third, overall consistency can be achieved when using a central mix plant rather than using a track mixer.

Overall, specific batch processing can be performed in a variety of ways. The method employed for concrete production depends on cost, project schedule, and satisfactory concrete product quality.
