Fred worked hard for several years. He was a growing and comfortable home and had a nice small business that was saved enough to get two children to college.
One day he bought a used car from a friend for his son to drive. It was a busy period of his season and he was covered in work. He believed that purchased cars were automatically covered by insurance for the first 30 days.
His son decided to take the car out and let his friend drive it. The friend drove carelessly and caused a terrible accident. Two of the other cars were seriously injured and one died.
The other parties were treated and released. Fred called the insurance company to report everything, but found that he was not compensated. He had a car for only 20 days and thought he was covered. His agent informed him that he was automatically compensated for only 15 days. Fred had not yet called a new used car and did not add it to the policy.
Needless to say, the lawsuit continued. Fred lost his money for his business, home, children's college tuition and had to provide time almost in prison. Because he was too busy to handle important issues like car insurance. He assumed he was covered when he was not.
It doesn't have to happen to you. Car insurance is very important and should not be disregarded. You can be your best friend when you need it. Do not assume. Please familiarize yourself with the policy and how it works. If you have any questions, ask your agent.
And make sure it is always covered. When you buy a vehicle, you will see how many days are covered automatically. Check the policy and check everything. Don't let you know what happened to Fred.
