Book Review - Mob Fest '29: The True Story About the Birth of Organized Crime 1

Mobfest & 29: 29: The true story about the birth of organized crime was written by the veteran mob writer Birtonelli, but I don't think this is a great book, but certainly a great book that deserves your attention To do. Tonelli writes about organized crime in the New York Times, Slate, and Philadelphia Magazine. There are also several full-length books on this subject. Certainly it is an impressive resume and no one is wet as far as the mob is concerned. .

If possible, I gave this book 4½ stars, but it wasn't on the Amazon option list, so I gave it all five stars.

It's frustrating and I don't really understand the caustic one-star reviews scattered throughout the review page of this book. It may be an opinion to say that Mob Fest & 29; By examining the term sock puppet, you can understand what I am talking about. In my opinion, I am a writer and well-written book that has been published for almost 40 years. It may be a bit rude at the spot, but it's definitely written enough, so Tonelli lets readers continue reading.

In these one-star reviews, readers complain that Tonelli claims to cite other books. Well, that is exactly what the writer is doing. Instead of studying books related to the subject they are writing and writing them like they are their own original words, they give a quote.

Tonelli, a true professional, did extensive research on the book until interviewing leading criminal writers like Jimmy Breslin and Mike Dash. Regarding the legendary [imaginary?] Giant Atlantic City mob summit in 1929, Toneri digests the facts while looking at the facts. He then concludes, but for obvious reasons I will not reveal it. I happen to not agree completely with Tonelli's conclusion, but I understand his reasoning, and he may be right about a specific event or event. Total two steps.

For example, there is a question about the validity of the famous photo of the Atlantic mob boss Enoch “Nacky” Johnson and three other mob seniors and the Chicago mob Al Capone bouncing on the Atlantic City promenade [29]. Capone is on the far left and Johnson is on the far right.
Was this photo a fake article in the Heart-owned New York Evening Journal to hurt Johnson's credit? According to Johnson-it was.

Tonelli wrote at Mob Fest & # 39; 29 that Grace D & # 39; Amato first posted a lifetime chance. “I have never walked with Capone. A photographer from the NewYork Evening Journal has two photos. As you may have noticed, I was wearing a summer suit, but Capone and his companions were in winter. I wore clothes.

The reason Hurst did Johnson in such a dirty manner was that Johnson was cheating with Hurst's girlfriend and his reputation was the one that Hurst hurt Johnson most.

As Tonelli said in Mob Fest & 29; 29, “Hearst was a baron of the press that instigated the Spanish-American war to boost readers. Afterwards, it was less ethical to forge photos. It wasn't. ''

Despite the nasty 1-star review, mob lovers should enjoy Mob Fest & # 39; 29.

I know what I did.
