Bowling is a very popular game and its popularity in the United States and around the world has grown exponentially. Many have incorporated bowling as an entertainment and some are more serious about the game and its techniques.
No matter what group you belong to, there are certain things you should know about this amazing game.
The first thing to discuss here is the types of balls that can be used and the various grip types that can be used.
Bowling balls can be classified by their weight and surface type. From a gameplay perspective, the surface type is more important than the weight of the ball. However, this should not be interpreted as the weight of the ball does not affect the game.
There are many types of ball surfaces: their main ones
Plastic
Urethane
Resin
Particle
Balls with a plastic surface have the least friction when in contact with the surface of the lane, and the surface of the particles produces the most of the remaining two types in between these two extremes.
If you only want to take one out of this discussion, keep in mind that the greater the friction of a particular type of surface, the better the hook shot.
Frankly speaking, when it comes to grip types, many bowlers are ready to accept that there are different types of grips or that other grips may be better than traditional grips.
With traditional grips, put your thumb as deep as possible into the hole in your thumb. However, the other fingers, the ring finger and middle finger, go all the way to the second finger joint.
There are two other types of grips. In one, both the ring finger and middle finger go to the first knuckle. In addition, the second type of ring finger can enter up to the second joint, but the middle finger can only enter up to the first joint.
What are the advantages of these types of grips? These grips are used by experienced bowlers to develop finger strength through many exercises, allowing the bowler to turn the ball better and produce more controlled hooks.
