Clark the Mountain Beaver spent his whole life quietly in the burrow. He is shy and usually only goes out at night, but one day he decides to adventure and leave the burrow during the day when most of the other creatures are.
Following Karen Shea's new book, “The Clark The Mountain Beaver and His Great Adventure”, not only does Clark discover what the outside world is all about, he ’s just a mountain of new friends. There is a beaver for each page of beautiful illustrations to educate. As you know, Clark is always confused with the more popular American beaver, but he doesn't have a long tail, is much smaller than his famous mate, and doesn't build a lodge, I live in a burrow.
However, despite the identity turmoil he experienced in adventure, Clark discovers that the world is full of fascinating creatures, most of which are very friendly. Only a few of those friends include a mother deer and her two fawns and a busy squirrel family. Duck's Mr. and Mrs. Cooker are funny couples, and there is Stella and Stella Jay who loves peanuts. The human dog bridger, when Clark first met her, Clark is also a little unsure about Hep, the bald eagle, but he asks if they can be friends, and then a friend Don 39; t eat each other.
Author Karen Sheer promises parents that "when you learn about friendship, trust, and understanding that you'll be fine no matter who you are, take your child alongside Clark" . The lesson is clear throughout the book, but most of all, when Clark met his last friend, Louis, American Beaver. Both are unwilling to meet the other and immediately bond.
As an additional bonus, Shay points out that it is no coincidence that Clark and Lewis were named after a famous explorer. In fact, the Lewis & Clark expedition named Mountain Beaver a beaver. Shea gives a little historical lesson at the end of this book about a complete expedition with a map of the trip. She also includes a special page for recording facts about mountain beavers and the various creatures children have found in their gardens.
This book is sure to turn your child into a curious naturalist and animal lover. The beautiful illustrations by Kelly Harpin deserve a Disney cartoon. Coloring book, Clark Mountain Beaver and his new friends! It is also available on the book website. I think even those famous explorers enjoyed the colorful adventure of turning this page.
