Also known as allergy or hypersensitivity is an abnormal response to certain substances that usually occur naturally. When an allergic person is exposed to these substances called allergens, the body's immune system is ready to fight them. Allergens are microscopic protein substances that are common and cause allergic patients to produce antidotes [antibodies]. The most common allergens are weeds, grasses, pollen from trees and trees, molds and fungi, house dust mites and pet dander.
Where did the allergy come from? How were they born? The earliest reports of allergic diseases are reports of menstrual periods in Egypt, killed by wasps stings at some point between 3640 and 3300 BC. From ancient history, the son of Roman emperor Claudius Britannicus was allergic to a horse, developed a rash on his eyes and swollen that he could no longer see.
The concept of allergy was first introduced in 1906 by the Vienna pediatrician Clemens von Pirquet. After he points out that some of his patients are sensitive to normally harmless entities such as dust, pollen, or certain foods. Piquet called this phenomenon "allergy" from the ancient Greek word "allos" which means "others" and the elgon meaning "work". According to history, all forms of hypersensitivity were classified as allergies, which were caused by a poor and inappropriate immune system.
Scientists believe that allergies occurred millions of years ago as a way for the human body to release itself from parasites and invading worms. The body fights these elements and other invaders by producing antibodies called immunoglobulin E [IgE] in the intestines and lungs. IgE releases many chemicals to immune cells. One of them is histamine. Histamine causes hives, watery eyes, sneezing and itching. The more people are exposed to allergens, the more IgE the body produces and allergies usually worsen with age.
What is the cause of allergies? Allergies are caused by substances that are inhaled, swallowed, or touched. Today, allergies are very common and occur continuously. It can cause unpleasant symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, swelling and itching. It can also cause other symptoms such as asthma, sinusitis, ear infections, and skin rashes. The most common symptom of allergy is allergic rhinitis, most commonly known as hay fever. These symptoms are similar to those of a cold. The difference is that a common cold lasts 7 to 10 days, whereas allergic rhinitis can be dragged for weeks or even longer.
