Greystoke - It's Not All About Tarzan! 1

Grace Talk is a charming little village with traditional slate roof cottages from the 17th century. Just 5 miles west of Penrith, Gracetalk has a beautiful village green with an ancient market cross that dates back to the early 1600s. Unfortunately, not directly related to Tarzan, he would have stayed in one of the first Lake District holiday cottages in the area.

Opposite the green village is The Boot and Shoe, a 17th century coaching in. This traditional, family-run pub offers homemade meals and local authentic ales, specialty curries, steaks and tapas evenings. A variety of live music is performed throughout the year on Sunday afternoons. Pay attention to Christmas carols and traditional mulled wine and mince pie. If you're tired of the day and aren't tired, you can join the boot music jam session and sing and listen every second and fourth of every Monday.

Grace Talk raised a pool of outdoor pools in September with a live music beer festival. Tickets can be obtained locally or volunteered behind the bar for free admission!

The village shop is in the center of the village. At a family-run shop you can expect a friendly service that sells regular newspapers and groceries along with local meats and fresh bread. Open 7 days a week and there is a post office counter in the store.

The gem at the Gracetalk crown is an outdoor swimming pool that opened in 1973. There is a small infant pool adjacent to the main pool with a small slide at the shallow end. Sit on a poolside picnic bench and enjoy a snack or drink. The pool is open from April to September and volunteers are located, so it is recommended to call in advance or check the website opening hours.

The pool is part of the District Sport Association and offers 2 children's playgrounds, a soccer field and free village parking.

For family safe cycling, Grace Talk Forest, part of the castle grounds, offers miles of courses in the beautiful forest.

An important place for cyclists, Grace Talk is located at the crossroads from the coast to the coast and from the land end to John O & # 39; Groats Route. The well-equipped tea garden and cycle cafe offer beautiful views from the park to Gracetalk Castle. The barn operates self-service for cyclists with hot food and drinks as well as spare inner tubes, chain oil, and sudocreme!

The Cycle Cafe also runs an unusual workshop & # 39 ;. Throughout the year, from dry stone walls, wire sculptures, first aid to all kinds of paintings and paintings. For a rich and occasionally checking list, it is worth checking the website.

The St Andrews Church is a good example of the peculiar structure of northern England, a pail tower specially built to protect against attacks from the Scottish invasion. The church attracts a lot of attention, including ancient stained glass, modern sculptures, and 14th century crafts including details of the signboard throughout the church.

There are several Lake District cottages in the area surrounding Gracetalk, making it an ideal base for exploring this unknown amount of Cambria.
